Southern California Edison pursues an alternative to LEAPS
Southern California Edison is planning on constructing and owning five peaker projects in their territory which will largely serve the peak energy requirements that the LEAPS proponents use as their reason for approval. These will likely be online before LEAPS finishes its environmental review process. Therefore, LEAPS proponents will need to address the issue of an existing alternative in the pending Draft Environmental Impact Report required by the state of California under CEQA.
